General Admission



International applicants should familiarise themselves with the University's International Student website. This site provides useful information on such things as housing, fees, English language requirements and the various support services available at the University of Melbourne.


Application Procedure

Prior to submitting an application, applicants should familiarise themselves with the guidelines pertaining to the proposed course.

Prospective applicants are required to submit an Expression of Interest.

 

English Language Requirement



All applicants must meet the University's English language requirement in accordance with Regulation 11.1R3 - Principles of Selection for Entry to Courses (Attachment A).  For further information, please view the Postgraduate English language requirements web page.

 

Fees



Please click here for information on the tuition fees.

(Currently the annual tuition fee is $28,000 Australian dollars.)
(2009 annual tuition fee will be $29,600 Australian dollars.)

 

Scholarships


The University of Melbourne has three main scholarships for International students undertaking research degrees. They are:

  • International Postgraduate Research Scholarship
  • Melbourne International Fee Remission Scholarship
  • Melbourne International Research Scholarship

Supervision


Please refer to the Law School's Staff Research Expertise webpage to assess if we have expertise and potential supervisors for your proposed research topic. 

 

How to Apply


Expression of Interest

Prospective applicants are required to submit an Expression of Interest .  If we belive that you are a suitable candidate and that we can provide you with appropriate support and supervision, then we will ask you to complete a formal University of Melbourne application for admission.
 

Application Closing Dates

Applications are accepted throughout the year. Please note that if you wish to be considered for all the scholarships available to international applicants, your application form must be submitted by 31 August of the current calendar year.
 

Application Form

To apply for one of the Graduate Research Programs, you may either apply online, download an application or request a postgraduate prospectus and application be sent to you via the International Students website.
